Christina Berke MFA M.Ed. is a Chilean-American writer and trauma-informed educator. She is the inaugural Carol Shields Prize Foundation Residency Fellow.

She’s been supported by Bread Loaf, Sewanee, Tin House, VONA, Mendocino, Hedgebrook, Storyknife, Vermont Studio Center and Ragdale. Her work is in The Sun, Teen Vogue, Off Assignment, Khora and elsewhere. She is working on a memoir, Well, Body, an excerpt of which was a Finalist with Fractured Lit, Longlisted with Disquiet Literary International, Kenyon Review, Lighthouse Writers and the Miami Emerging Writer Contest. A former middle school English teacher and international private educator, she earned her BA at UC Berkeley, M.Ed. at UCLA and MFA at UNLV.
